During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Transformational Leadership Expert Naomi White interviewed a variety of women around the world. She called her series “Naomi White’s Corona-cation” and asked questions about culture, health, spirituality and business during the time of coronavirus.
Jo spent 2 months (1 April – 31 May 2020) physically distancing on her yacht VITALITY in South East Queensland’s Moreton Bay. At the end of this time, whilst at a marina in Raby Bay, she was delighted to be speak with Naomi about her experience.
The 1977 Roberts 34 foot cutter-rigged sloop VITALITY is in the process of being renovated. This image of the interview setup is an example of making work “work” under sometimes challenging conditions. In this case positioning the laptop camera correctly for the moving early afternoon sun!

In this conversation Jo’s asking the questions rather than answering them. In March 2016, whilst at the PSA (Professional Speakers Australia) annual convention at Queensland’s Gold Coast in Australia, Jo had the opportunity to interview Max Walker AM CSP before the awards dinner. Finding a quiet venue inside the QT hotel was a challenge and the concierge suggested outside near the swimming pool. Even this place was disrupted by unexpected fireworks on the beach… but they continued the conversation nevertheless.
These few moments together sharing Jo’s phone microphone became even more treasured as Max died just 5 months later. He was a sporting legend at cricket and Aussie rules football, a television commentator, public speaker and accomplished architect. He was also a warm and generous gentleman. Those who know Jo well will probably detect some nerves and excitement in her voice!
