Jo Hassan is that rare speaker at the intersection of small business and mental health.

At least 1 in 5 Australians experience mental illness each year and from her own research Jo has found that 10% of business owners are working >100 hours a week and 5% are working >120 hours a week.

Jo has seen first hand how small business owners are feeling overwhelm and can’t remember when they last had family time, a holiday or even a day off when they didn’t think about their business.

How they have overload trying to be and do everything for everyone, are working too many hours on too many different aspects of their business and feel like they have their business whirling around in their head 24 hours a day.

If you need a keynote speaker, conference breakout session, workshop or a full coaching program, Jo can take your audience on a journey to increase their VITALITY.

Topics

PEPP® Up Your Life

Business is about so much more than profit. In this case, PEPP® = Purpose + Energy + Pleasure + Profit for more balance and vitality in business and life.

And whilst monetary profit is important it’s not everyone’s driver for success.

You will learn:

  • How to view life through a lens of PEPP® (Purpose, Energy, Pleasure and Profit)
  • How “purpose” of the organisation, team and individual come together
  • Why energy of the individual affects energy of the team
  • Why it’s OK to have fun at work even if the subject matter is serious
  • Why profit is not the only driver for success.

Why Vitality Matters

What’s really going on in the mind of the business owner or leader and why making a thinking shift is the starting point for a more vibrant workplace with happier team members. Why being an individual person before being a leader makes us a better leader.

You will learn:

  • Why vitality matters more than ever for people and organisations
  • Why being our own person first makes us a better employee or leader

  • How to move along the Vitality Journey
  • Why balance will improve an organisation’s service delivery

Leading a High Performance Team

Being a strategic leader includes having balance in life and a strategic plan for success. The key though is that strategic plans don’t just exist in a vacuum. Procrastination is a challenge many face.

The best leaders and employees live with vitality and use strategy to share their vision utilising innovation, passion and commitment. When they know their own “why?” they are able to share it which gives their people a purpose and a challenge they are willing to embrace to achieve outstanding results.

You will learn:

  • How to identify your why
  • Why your why is important
  • Why being an individual before being a leader makes us a better leader
  • How to live with vitality and lead with vitality
  • How to measure a high performance team.

Building Resilience in a Busy World

Why planning for pleasure every day is important to thrive rather than just survive. How #WearPinkAndSmileAnyway was a lifesaver. Find your own “pink”… and it may not be a colour.

You will learn:

  • Why resilience is an inside job
  • When it’s OK to be the opposite of resilient
  • Why living with PEPP® (Purpose + Energy + Pleasure + Profit) is the answer
  • The importance of disconnection from technology to reconnect with self
  • How to maintain resilience by finding your own “pink”

Each of these topics can be delivered as a keynote address, half day or full day workshop, in person or via Zoom. Longer coaching programs are also available.

These days Chambers face the challenge of capturing the attention of businesses and hosting events which are interesting, informative and memorable. Last week, one such event was hosted by Simon Penrose, President the Brisbane North Chamber of Commerce.

Killing 3 birds at once, the ‘Business Leaders Lunch’ focused on Women Leaders in the Workplace, raised money for Breast Cancer and was held at the beautiful Brisbane Airport Conference Centre.

With her usual flair & professionalism, Jo Hassan MC’d a panel discussion with Dominique Lamb, CEO National Retailers Association, “You can only be what you see”, Councillor Krista Adams, Brisbane Deputy Mayor, “Fake it til you make it!”, and Elizabeth Jameson, RACQ Director, “Equal pay is not just equity, it’s just good business!”
