An hour of play beats a year of conversation for creating deep connections. Come and hang out with Jo doing “fun stuff”…business networking with a difference!

People often share with Jo that they follow her on social media, especially Facebook, because they want to vicariously experience life as she lives it! That’s the reason she has created PEPP® Experiences: events where people can simply “hang out” with her for sheer amusement, remembering that very important “P” for Pleasure in PEPP®.
She has put together a calendar of tremendously varied activities from physically challenging to thought provoking to practical “using your hands” to simply enjoying being together with a group of people all trying to PEPP® Up their lives and increase their vitality.

Whether you’re a current client, not yet a client or never think you’ll be a client, if you fancy coming along then you’re invited to do so. Simply come and “be” with Jo and (perhaps) enjoy the challenge of trying something different.

Upcoming Events

  • Ride a Segway
  • Kayak on the Brisbane River
  • Gin Tasting
  • Soundbath – again – by popular demand!

And it’s not JUST about the fun in the moment… science has proven that doing novel things is actually good for you!

  • When you learn something new, the brain builds connections between neurons which is great because as we age we lose some.
  • We feel better when dopamine is released in the brain and novel experiences reward us with that.
  • Repetition in life is like being on autopilot… so time – hours, months, years – seem to fly by. When we break that routine and savour the moments… and then have new experiences to share stories about, the appreciation lives on.
  • Researchers at University College London have proved that you can actually be bored to death! Over more than 20 years they followed 7,500 civil servants and they were more than twice as likely to die of heart disease if they described being extremely bored.

The real you appears

When your guard is down and you’re doing things you don’t normally do, the real you appears. The authentic one. The one without the “shop front”. Remember though that as it’s happening to you it’s happening to everyone around you: you get to see the real them.

The real “them” and the real you may appear in the face of failure. Don’t be afraid of this. There will be some experiences where Jo fails, because she’s deliberately selecting some that she hasn’t done before either so there will be an even playing field, so to speak.

“I’ll get better!”

The most important thing then is to nurture a growth mind-set by saying “I’ll get better!” rather than the more negative “I’m useless at this!” Carol Dweck, PhD, Stanford University professor of psychology and author of “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success” says that then fosters perseverance and resilience which we can take home with us to increase our vitality for much longer than the time we are together.

Here’s Jo’s first attempt at snowboarding. She hadn’t snow skied for 37 years and took her son to Queenstown in New Zealand recently. She revelled in the fact that she stayed up on her skis after so long. He was keen to try snowboarding though so she thought she would too. She spent a lot of time on the ground and laughed a lot. By the end of an afternoon lesson, she was delighted to get down the slope standing up…albeit slowly and she has a video to prove that she did it!

Here’s a ‘taster’ of some of the events already held.

Bath Yourself in Sound at a Soundbath

Facilitated by Sound Therapist Tom Schache from www.tommmm.com

The “PEPPexperience Soundbath” was a wonderfully relaxing evening pulled together with style and aplomb by the talented Jo Hassan.

Today, in our busy world, we don’t always take time for ourselves so to have something offered that is as restorative as this was greatly appreciated.

I look forward to the next event.

Naomi White, Metamorphco

Really great and different.

Graham Miller, Slingshot Consulting

I loved the sensation of the singing bowls, as well as the aftermath of being bathed in serenity .  Your first PEPP experience was an unexpected night of relaxation, which was much needed after a stressful few days.  I’m eagerly looking forward to the next fun adventure with you.

The most relaxing hour of my life.

I thoroughly enjoyed the soundbath experience that Jo Hassan hosted this week. It was a first for me and one that I’d be interested in having another go at. I met some lovely people in a very friendly environment.

A great experience!

It was nice to do something outside of my comfort zone… and find that I really enjoyed it.

Tim O'Brien, Computer Logic

You are doing a fabulous thing Jo – opening up people’s minds to fun possibilities where previously they may have been closed.

Moira Pearl,

Kicking a Footbike

Facilitated by Senior Kickologist Bruce Cook from Kickbike Australia.

It’s always good to try new things. It was super fun and a bit outside my comfort zone.

I wonder what I can do now to benefit my business that is a little outside my comfort zone too?

I had so much fun I forgot to network!

Champagne Tasting Masterclass in a Diamond Boutique

Facilitated by The Bubble Diva Amanda Reboul and co-hosted by Karl Schwantes of Xennox Diamonds.

Champagne tasting in a diamond boutique was a delight – the combination of people and beautiful things was quite different. It was also interesting to be in a learning environment at networking event.

Margaret Ash, Dedicated Bookkeeping

A great networking event. I met a lot of very interesting people.

Alex Burloff,

This French Champagne Tasting PEPPexperience at Xennox Diamonds was a beautiful evening shared with like-minded business people. We enjoyed learning the stories behind the famous Champagnes amongst the glittering diamonds. Thank you Jo for the invitation.

The Word Witch at Indie Experts – the specialist independent publishing company for non-fiction authors who are game changers in their industries.

“I have attended two of Jo Hassan’s clever and charming networking opportunities in the last few months and am delighted to finally have found a fresh way of networking and doing something fun and interesting for myself and my business.

Tired of the same old meetups and breakfast club banter, I went along to a Sound Bath – not knowing what to expect, and found myself transported to a peaceful space that was simply a wonderful way to recharge my mind and rest my weary self through the use of sound waves.

Then a few weeks later I found myself being educated beyond where I’d have ever expected to be on the subject of quality French Champagne. Among friends, and meeting new people too, I sipped the finest tasting nectar from the grapes, learned about why it really tasted so good, and sparkles met bubbles in the environment of a diamond speciality store.

I love this new way of networking – bugger the breakfasts, I want more of this.  Fun, Fitness, Fresh and Fancy, and a little bit of Frivolity maybe. What a mix!”

Indoor Skydiving

Facilitated and hosted by ifLY Indoor Skydiving Brisbane.

What a buzz! My first iFLY flight – look Dad, no hands! Second flight I went whizzing way up to the very top of the chamber, up & down 3 times, guided by my instructor of course. So much more fun than the 14000ft sky-dive I did, strapped to a guy with a comb-over.

There’s nothing like pushing your comfort zone boundaries & routine out for a buzz, confidence boost and expansion of possibilities.

Many thanks Jo Hassan for organizing this Indoor Skydiving at iFly PEPPexperience. Lovely to network with such a great group of people.

Sue Lester, Sue Lester

iFly was the first event of Jo’s I had ever been to and the first time we would meet face to face. Upon arrival there was no missing Jo in her bright, vibrant, pink outfit and pink room décor. Her positive vibes instantly lifted everybody’s energy levels after a long work day which was much needed and appreciated.

I found the event itself a beautiful twist on the typical business networking styles and I think we all left feeling a little bit better about ourselves and our community of like minded business owners. I can not wait for the next one.

Thank you for organising the iFly PEPPexperience.

It was a welcome break from reality and the worries that come with it.  What an adrenaline rush!  I loved it.

Cheese & Chocolate Pairing Masterclass

Facilitated and hosted by Wendy Downes at The Cheeseboard.

Thank you Jo,

I had no idea what to expect at my first PEPPexperience but it was lovely to connect with new people and new tastes.  Lovely way to network with a different experience and I’ll look out for your future ideas.

Anne Noonan, Yoga Forever

How would one know this cheese and chocolate combination would work? Thanks, Jo for opening my eyes to this.

It was great making new connections and have wonderful conversations with like-minded people.

Never thought a mouthful of orange blue cheese and gingerbread chocolate could be so heavenly! Actually, never thought of eating them together full stop! Another delightful PEPP experience with Jo Hassan, this time at The Cheeseboard in Stafford.

Drumming Circle

Facilitated by Tom Schache at Benga Box.

Jo’s inspiring vitality shines through in all her events.
The drumming circle was a completely new idea for me. Something outside what I would normally do, however it was great fun and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The huge smiles say it all! It was also a terrific way to meet some new and interesting people.
I’m looking forward to Jo’s next PEPPexperience.
